Okeechobee?

We heard about Lake Okeechobee from a Norwegian acquaintance, and at the same time from the TV series named “The Glades“. So we decided that we had to check out this lake, which is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Florida.

According to Wikipedia the name of this lake, Okeechobee comes from the Hitchiti words oki (water) and chubi (big). Although it’s so big (chubi), that you can’t miss it – we surely did the first time… Believe it or not! We followed the signs, and parked the car believing that we could stretch our legs after a long and warm drive, and enjoy this beauty – Lake Okeechobee….

What we found??? A tiny dam…. NOT worth the hours of sweating in the car, instead of chilling by the pool! But we found something! ….The biggest spider web ever!! Worth some minutes of sweating inside the car in search for the lake I guess…

If you find Lake Okeechobee, (it’s not that difficult, I guess our driver just had a bad day…) you will enjoy an amazing sight!
